9 мая - самый главный праздник в нашем отечестве - День Победы.
Внезапное и вероломное нападение фашистской Германии на СССР вызвало жгучую ненависть всего многонационального советского народа к гитлеровцам.
Вначале наша страна несла большие потери. В битве полегли тысячи тысяч солдат и мирных жителей - стариков, детей, матерей, погибали в огне города, села. Но государство собрало в стальной кулак волю к разгрому врага. Мы помним хорошо великую битву под Москвой, Сталинградом, героическую оборону Ленинграда, ожесточенную битву танкистов на Курской дуге, ярость нашего воинства под Севастополем. В нашей памяти трудовой подвиг тех, кто ковал Победу в тылу. И вот наступил долгожданный день Великой Победы. Фашистская Германия капитулировала, алое знамя, ознаменовавшее окончание Великой Отечественной войны было водружено в Берлине над рейхстагом. А 9 мая было официально объявлено в СССР национальным праздником - Днём великой Победы советского народа с гитлеровскими захватчиками.

9 мая в столице нашей Родины Москве ежегодно проходит парад посвященной этой незабываемой дате. Ветераны, россияне и многочисленные гости, в том числе и из за рубежа становятся свидетелями грандиозного и волнующего марша теперь уже российского воинства по брусчатке Красной площади. В нем так же участвуют и представители дружеских нам армий, как стран содружества независимых государств, так и из дальнего зарубежья.
По Красной площади пройдут танки, БТРы, артиллерийские системы, комплексы противоракетной обороны, ракетные комплексы стратегического назначения. Над площадью пронесутся российские боевые самолеты, в их числе и эскадрилий «Стрижи» и «Русские витязи». Парады Победы пройдут не только в Москве, но и во всех городах от Калининграда до Владивостока. А вечером мирное небо раскрасят яркие краски праздничных салютов и фейерверков.
Потом долго будут не смолкать песни посвященные этому поистине историческому событию, звучать мелодии в исполнении военных оркестров тех далеких лет.
Нашей стране, российскому народу как воздух нужен мир, чтобы превратить отчизну в могучую высокоразвитую экономическую державу. Но чтобы отстоять мир, мы должны быть к этому всегда готовы. У России всегда должны быть мощно вооруженная Армия и военно-морской Флот.

С праздником - Великим Днем Победы, дорогие соотечественники!

С каждым годом по всему миру всё меньше и меньше остается ветеранов Второй мировой войны, все меньше тех, которые ценой невероятных усилий отстояли право своего народа на жизнь и благодаря которым живем сейчас мы. Людская природа враждебна, и нам остается только надеяться, что новая война не произойдет. Захватчики давно уничтожены, и победа одержана, но кто знает, может быть это была всего лишь битва? Ведь настоящая победа — не уничтожить врага, а закопать топор войны.

Essay on Victory Day

One of the most remarkable public events in Russia is the Victory Day. It is traditionally celebrated on the 9th of May. The holiday marks the capitulation of Nazi Germany to the Soviet Union in the Second World War in 1945. It became the end of the Great Patriotic War for the USSR, which lost about 25 million citizens in the four years of fighting and starvation.

Every year all cities across the country have lots of parades and celebrations. Even though the fact that the holiday is celebrated cheerfully, May 9 is a sad day for the majority of our population. Many people have lost close relatives and friends in this terrible war. Almost every family in Russia has a person who didn’t return from the battlefield. A great number of people were seriously injured and became disabled. On this day we are grateful to our saviors, to those who sacrificed their lives for us. That’s why we try to celebrate this day with honors.

There are some traditions that we follow. We give flowers, usually red carnations, to veterans in the street and lay wreaths at war memorial sites. Neighborhood schools may host a program prepared by the students, featuring wartime songs and poetry. Also, there is St. George ribbon campaign, which has occurred on the eve of the Victory Day for nine years already. Millions of Russians and compatriots in 100 countries take part in this campaign. Orange-black ribbons handed out by volunteers in the streets are one more sign of our commemoration of the Great Victory. At home, we gather around a festive table to honor survivors and honor those who passed away. We may also watch a favorite Soviet film based on the events of World War II.

I think it’s a great day in our history, but some part of the younger generation doesn’t understand the importance of this event, which I think is disrespectful. My grandparents took part in this war, and I’m proud of them.

Одним из самых запоминающихся государственных праздников в России является День Победы. Он традиционно отмечается 9 мая. Этот праздник знаменует сдачу Германии Советскому Союзу во Второй Мировой войне в 1945 году. Это стало окончанием Великой Отечественной войны для СССР, в результате чего за четыре года боевых действий и голода погибло около 25 миллионов граждан.

Ежегодно во всех городах по всей стране проходят парады и торжества. Несмотря на то, что праздник празднуется весело, 9 Мая - это печальный день для большей части нашего населения. Многие люди потеряли близких родственников и друзей в этой ужасной войне. Почти у каждой семьи в России есть человек, который не вернулся с поля битвы. Большое количество людей получили серьезные ранения и стали инвалидами. В этот день мы благодарны нашим спасителям, тем, кто жертвовал своей жизнью за нас. Вот почему мы стараемся отмечать этот день с почестями.

Есть некоторые традиции, которых мы придерживаемся. Мы дарим цветы, как правило, красные гвоздики, ветеранам на улице и возлагаем венки на военных мемориалах. В соседних школах может быть организована программа, подготовленная школьниками, с участием песен военного времени и поэзии. Кроме того, существует кампания лент Св. Russia is rich in different traditions. There are dates and events in our country that are memorable to all Russian people. Victory Day is the greatest holiday in our country. It marks the Victory of our country in World War II, the Victory of the Russian troops over the Nazi invaders.

In all the towns are decorations, flags and slogans in the streets, in the shop windows and on the front of large buildings. On Victory Day morning there are meetings and demonstrations of the veterans who fought in the Great Patriotic War. On that day there usually is military parade in all big cities of our country. There are a lot of people in the streets and squares. They are all celebrating their holiday. People put flowers at the tombs of the soldiers, who were killed during the war. They lay flowers to those who did not live to see the Victory. War veterans tell the children about the war and how they fought for Victory. In the evening there is usually a holiday salute and a minute of silence to remember all those who did not come back from the Great Patriotic War.

Russian people are open-hearted, hospitable and friendly. Love for freedom has been a national character of our people. When Russia was attacked by the enemy the Russian people rose up in defence of their Motherland.

No enemy has been able to conquer our country!

There are more than 13 “hero-cities” in Russia because they fought so heroically during the war. The great sacrifices which people of these cities and towns made for the freedom and independence of our country, the countless hardships they went through during the war, the selfless efforts in the rear and at the front were not in vain.

Volgograd is a legendary city, because here in 1943 the Soviet Army won the great and glorious victory over the fascists. The symbol of Volgograd is the Mamaev Hill. It was the centre of fighting during the heroic defence of Stalingrad. The centre of Volgograd is the Square of the Fallen Heroes. In the middle of it there is a granite obelisk at the foot of it you can see the Eternal Flame.

I live in a small village Markuchi. It is my Motherland and I love my native place very much. I consider that I am very patriotic and my tiny village is the best place in the world! There is a monument for the Fallen Soldiers in the centre of our village. Every year our inhabitants celebrate the Victory Day. It’s a pity, but there are no war veterans in our village already but we have 5 toilers of the rear.

Many old residents were children during the war, and their life was very difficult. We celebrate all of them, invite them to school on the holiday concert. Young people must not forget the heroes, they must be ready to defend their country against all enemies.

The civilization was not crushed by the World War II and the ruins provided the stimulus to build a way of life again. The people felt free to reinvent themselves.

I appeal to all who hold dear cause of peace:

“Let us stop those who are trying to push the world into an abyss!

Let our voice sound as loud as never before!”

On May, 9th it has been declared by the Victory Holiday in commemoration of victorious end of the Great Patriotic War.

What is the war ?

It’s death, pain, losts and tears. Broken lives, which will never see the sun, will never hug the children, will never feel the mother’s care; will never support their wives and husbands. This is the end, for them, for those who died. But not for us, for us this is a victory through tears. This is a victory day-a great day!!

What do people do?

Many people watch the fireworks at night on Victory Day. The biggest parade is in Moscow’s Red Square, showcasing Russia’s military forces. Most veterans wear their medals as they head to the parade or an event organized by a local veteran organization .

Another tradition is to give flowers, usually red carnations, to veterans in the street and to lay wreaths at the war memorial sites

Victory Day is a national holiday in Russia. Public offices, schools and most businesses are closed for the celebrations . There may be changes in public transport routes due to parades and street performances .

We must remember those soldiers, those brave people who stood up till death for their homes, their country and their believes .

We must be grateful to those who put their lives on the altar of the USSR victory. We must keep their memory carefully and appreciate everything they did for us, as we are living

just because they are dead.

Victory day is a great day! This is the most important day in our country. It has been 70 years ago but we know and remember those who died for us, who gave us life and hope for the peace and love. Don’t forget those millions which are not with us, but in our hearts.
